Hello, it’s nice to meet you!
I am a busy mother of two (plus one dog). I founded Woodhaven Law in 2019 so that I could continue helping my clients while also spending as much time as possible with my little ones. The name was inspired by the park adjacent to our home.
I was born and raised in Kelowna and have strong roots in the community.
I attended elementary, middle, and high school in Kelowna and completed a legal administrative assistant course at Okanagan University College. I worked part time in that field while paying my way through university. I completed my Bachelor of Arts at UBC (Okanagan) in 2008 with a major in International Relations.
In 2013 I completed my law degree at the Univesity of Alberta.
In my first year I was the grateful recipient of the Jim Muller Memorial Bursary. I volunteered with Student Legal Services, providing free legal assistance to low income individuals in the Edmonton community.
I was also a member of the Environmental Law Club and the Student Animal Legal Defence Fund Club. I helped conduct legal research that was instrumental in the creation of the National Centre for the Prosecution of Animal Cruelty (NCPAC) caselaw database.
I began my legal career with a prestigious regional firm.
There I articled and spent my first year of call working in the litigation department. I quickly realized that litigation was not the right fit for me, so I transitioned to a solicitor practice focusing on estates and business law. I haven’t looked back since!
I enjoy volunteering for causes that are close to my heart.
I have been a volunteer with the BCSPCA since 2012 and am currently Chair of the Kelowna branch Community Council.
I have provided pro bono legal services to animal rescue organizations and other non-profit organizations providing valuable services in our community.
I am a founding member and current president of the Friends of Woodhaven Nature Conservancy Society, and I previously served on the Board of Directors for the Kelowna Summer Theatre Festival.
